Product Manager – Ophthalmic Lenses
We are working in partnership with a leading global ophthalmic lens manufacturer to recruit an experienced Product Manager to oversee their ophthalmic lens portfolio across a number of established premium and private label brands.
This is a highly visible, cross-functional role responsible for managing the full product lifecycle — from launch planning through to market performance analysis — while providing expert technical and product support internally and externally.
The Role
You will plan, organise and control the ophthalmic lens product range in line with global and local launch and lifecycle strategies, optimising profitability and supporting long-term growth objectives.
You will act as the product expert providing customer-facing and back-office product support. Working closely with Sales, Marketing, Production, IT, Logistics and Global Product Teams to ensure successful product launches and ongoing portfolio performance.
Key Responsibilities
Product Launch & Lifecycle Management
- Lead the introduction of new products to both customers and internal teams
- Create and manage detailed product launch plans, including cross-functional launch teams and weekly meetings
- Coordinate competitor analysis, pricing proposals, forecasting and post-launch performance reviews
- Liaise with Production, Logistics and IT to ensure accurate system setup, stock forecasting and product readiness
- Provide technical input into marketing materials, sales tools and compelling product arguments
- Manage the full lifecycle of all products, including gap analysis and sourcing where required
Training & Technical Support
- Develop and deliver structured technical training programmes for Sales, Marketing and Customer Service teams
- Prepare technical training materials and manage digital learning platforms.
- Provide first-line product support to sales teams across all brands
- Deliver customer presentations and CPD sessions as required
- Support customer services and sales with technical queries and non-tolerance claims
Commercial & Market Insight
- Monitor sell-out data and competitor activity to identify market opportunities
- Provide market insight and evidence to global product teams
- Support annual price increase processes and manage accurate price lists and catalogues
- Ensure correct product availability across all ordering platforms for individual customer needs
About You
- Qualified and experienced Dispensing Optician
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders
- Excellent presentation, communication and training delivery skills
- Confident leading cross-functional teams
- Commercially aware with strong analytical skills
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, including Excel and PowerPoint
