Zest Optical are working with a well-established independent Opticians in Chichester, West Sussex, to recruit a Practice Manager to oversee front-of-house operations and ensure the smooth running of this high-end, fully private practice.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong optical experience and a passion for outstanding service to take on a varied, hands-on management role in one of the area’s most respected practices.

Practice Manager – Role Overview

• Based in a premium independent Opticians in Chichester
• Front-of-house leadership role – no formal line management, but acting as the key support to the clinical team
• Team includes 2 Dispensing Opticians, a Trainee DO, and 2 Optometrists
• Double testing rooms, offering 60–75 minute test times
• Responsibilities include:
• Managing daily clinic flow and patient journey
• Overseeing collections, repairs, and contact lens orders
• Handling incoming calls and appointment bookings
• Monitoring compliance, health & safety, and updating policies
• Managing practice social media and contributing to marketing
• Input welcomed on practice improvements, systems, and operations
• Handy to have dispensing knowledge, but not a core requirement
• Opening hours: Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm, with 1 in 4 Saturdays (9am–4pm)
• Open to full or part time

Practice Manager – Requirements

• Experience working within an optical practice is essential
• Previous management or team leadership experience is highly desirable
• Organised, proactive, and confident managing day-to-day practice operations
• Strong communicator with a warm, patient-focused approach
• Comfortable bringing forward new ideas and taking initiative
• A great fit for someone who enjoys variety, autonomy, and problem-solving

• Salary of £28,000–£35,000 (depending on experience)
