About the Opportunity

Zest Optical are supporting a well-established, independent opticians in Felixstowe, Suffolk, as they open a second practice in Ipswich.

It's a practice built on what good independents do best - thorough, unhurried eye examinations, advanced diagnostic technology, and a standard of care patients notice and come back for. The eyewear follows the same thinking, a higher-end offer with a real emphasis on bespoke product, where the dispense is treated as a proper consultation rather than the last five minutes of the appointment.

The move into Ipswich is what creates this role. You'll split your week between the two practices - part of an established, close-knit team in Felixstowe, and one of a three-person team in Ipswich alongside an Optometrist and a Receptionist. In Ipswich, the dispensing process is totally yours.

The Role

• Part-time Dispensing Optician role working across an established practice in Felixstowe and a newly acquired second practice in Ipswich
• In Felixstowe, working alongside an experienced team where care and service are already well embedded
• In Ipswich, being the go-to for dispensing in a small team, with the independence and ownership that comes with it
• Delivering a genuinely consultative dispensing experience – helping patients find eyewear that suits their face, lifestyle and personality, not just their prescription
• Working with higher-end and bespoke frames and lenses, including more complex prescriptions
• Helping shape how the Ipswich practice looks after its patients as it becomes part of the business

What We're Looking For

• GOC-registered Dispensing Optician
• Someone who enjoys premium and bespoke product and feels confident guiding patients towards it
• Equally comfortable working within a team and working more independently in a smaller setting
• A warm, unhurried approach with patients and real pride in getting the detail right
• Happy to work across both Felixstowe and Ipswich

What's on Offer

• Around £35,000 FTE, pro rata for 3–4 days per week
• Part-time hours with some flexibility
• Rotational Saturdays off, and never Sundays or bank holidays
• Parking available
• A higher-end, service-led environment rather than a high-volume setup
• An independent business that's growing
