An experienced Senior Optical Glazing Technician is required to join an optical glazing lab based in Liverpool.
Glazing Technician - The Role
- Glazing to all levels
- Taking customers prescriptions from hand overs and making up orders accurately and efficiently
- Cutting and sizing lenses using edging machines
- Accurately fitting and adjusting lenses to customer frame
- Assembly of glasses
- Conducting final inspection against customer specification
- Quality assurance
- Managing remakes
- Colour tinting of lenses
- Preparation of work orders that relate to the grinding and mounting of prescription les orders
- Tracing of optical frames
- Final checking/cleaning of lens and frames
- Looking after and maintaining equipment
- Completing all relevant paperwork
- Liaising with the Lab Manager and front of house team
- Rotational on all parts of the glazing process
- On occasion provide technical knowledge advice regarding orders
- Ensuring that Health & Safety procedures are followed
- General housekeeping duties
Optical Glazing Technician - Requirements
- Previous glazing experience is essential
- Understanding of lenses and the overall production process
- Rimless inline and Lindberg experience is desirable
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Driving licence and own car would be advantageous
Salary and Additional Information
- Up to £24,000
- Monday to Friday from 9am to 5.30pm – 40 Hours a week
- 24 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays
- Free onsite parking
