Optometry, Optical Glazing and Optical Lab Technician jobs in East London. Zest Optical are currently working with an independent Opticians based in East London to hire a full time Lab Technician.

A small group of independent Opticians based in East London are looking for a full time Optical Lab Technician to work Monday to Friday. This onsite lab supplies lenses to 4 practices within the group with potential to expand beyond that.

Role

  • Working as the sole technician
  • Building a team as the role grows
  • Glazing (cut, edge & fit) lenses into frames
  • Spectacle repairs
  • Liaising with suppliers, patients and practices
  • Maintaining smooth running of lab
  • Stock control
  • Surfacing
  • Assisting the Director to modernise the lab

Requirements

  • Previous experience of working within an Optical lab
  • Complex glazing including rimless and supra
  • Excellent communication skills: clear verbal and written communication with active listening skills
  • Able to work within systems and processes
  • Ability to learn and want to develop

Salary and additional information

  • Paying between £18,000- £22,000
  • Monday to Friday
  • 30am to 6pm
  • Perk box
  • Nearest public transport stations – Woodgrange Park and Manor Park.
