Optical Final Checking Technician – Caerphilly, South Wales
Salary: Up to £27,000 | Monday to Friday, 8am–4pm
An established optical lens manufacturer in Caerphilly, South Wales is looking for a detail-focused Final Checking Technician to join their busy production team. This is a full-time role in a high-volume lab that supplies premium ophthalmic lenses to independent opticians across the UK. They are well known for precision, consistency and outstanding service.
About the Role
As a Final Checking Technician, you’ll be responsible for the last step in the manufacturing process, ensuring all glasses leaving the lab meet strict quality standards. You’ll work at pace without compromising accuracy, playing a key role in maintaining the lab’s excellent reputation.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out thorough final checks on all completed jobs, including lens fitting, alignment, and finish.
- Confirm frame and lens specifications match customer requirements exactly.
- Ensure all products are clean, polished, and free from defects or damage.
- Report any non-conformities or recurring issues to team leads or management.
- Work efficiently to meet high daily volumes while upholding quality control standards.
- Help keep remakes and customer returns to a minimum through careful checking.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area in line with lab processes.
About You
- Previous experience in an optical lab, particularly in final checking or quality control.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy.
- Able to work at speed without compromising on quality.
- Good understanding of optical lab processes and lens types.
- Reliable, self-motivated and comfortable working to daily targets.
Role Details
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm
- Location: Caerphilly, South Wales
- Salary: Up to £27,000 depending on experience
