Zest Optical are currently supporting a growing domiciliary optical provider to recruit a Customer Service Assistant for a fully remote position.

Screening Note

Applicants must have previous experience working within the optical industry and the right to work in the UK. No visa sponsorship is available.

The Role

This is a key position within a growing healthcare service delivering optical care to care homes and sheltered housing across the UK. The team supports patients who are unable to access high street practices, making this a rewarding and patient-focused environment.

As a Customer Service Assistant, you will act as the central point of contact for care homes, patients’ families, and the clinical team. You will manage appointments, handle enquiries, and ensure a smooth and professional patient journey from start to finish.

This is a fully remote role, with equipment provided, offering a structured Monday to Friday working pattern.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage incoming calls and emails in a professional and timely manner
  • Book and coordinate appointments with care homes and patients
  • Liaise with Optometrists, Dispensing staff, and care home teams
  • Handle queries relating to appointments, spectacles, and services
  • Maintain accurate records and update internal systems
  • Support general administration and day-to-day coordination
  • Deliver a high level of customer care with a patient-first approach

Requirements

  • Previous experience within optics is essential
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Organised with good attention to detail
  • Comfortable working independently in a remote environment
  • Confident using IT systems, booking platforms, and email
  • Professional, empathetic, and reliable approach

Package

  • Salary between £25,000 and £27,000
