Optical Assistant Job – Bexleyheath, Kent
£24,000 to £29,000 DOE | Full Time | Independent Opticians

Zest Optical Recruitment is working alongside a long-established independent Opticians in Kent to recruit a full-time Optical Assistant / Dispensing Assistant.

The role is primarily based in Bexleyheath, although the practice would ideally like someone who is happy to support their Sevenoaks and Chislehurst locations from time to time. They are, however, flexible for the right person if they are only able to work from one practice.

Optical Assistant – The Role

  • Full-time Optical Assistant / Dispensing Assistant position
  • Primarily based in Bexleyheath with the opportunity to support Sevenoaks and Chislehurst
  • Flexible for the right candidate if they are only able to work from one practice
  • Work within a modern independent practice offering exceptional patient care
  • Support patients throughout their entire journey, from reception through to dispensing
  • Dispense a wide range of premium eyewear and sunglasses
  • Work alongside experienced Dispensing Opticians and a knowledgeable, supportive team

Working Hours

  • Monday to Friday: 9:00am – 5:30pm
  • Saturday: 9:00am – 2:00pm
  • Saturday forms part of the normal working week. Although the practice closes at 2:00pm, you are paid for a full working day and it counts as a full day for annual leave purposes.

Salary and Benefits

  • £24,000 to £29,000 depending on experience

Optical Assistant – Requirements

  • Previous experience working as an Optical Assistant or Dispensing Assistant is essential
  • Confident supporting patients throughout their journey, including dispensing and frame styling
  • Passion for delivering exceptional customer service
  • Strong attention to detail and a professional approach
  • Friendly team player who enjoys working within an independent practice
