Dispensing Optician – Brigg, North Lincolnshire

£30,000 to £35,000 DOE | Full or Part Time | Independent Opticians | Management Progression

Zest Optical are working with a well-established, family-run independent opticians to recruit a qualified Dispensing Optician.

Predominantly based at their Brigg practice, you will join a friendly team providing high-quality NHS and private eye care to a loyal local patient base. The business is undergoing an exciting period of investment and development, including practice refurbishments and plans for continued growth.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Dispensing Optician who enjoys delivering a personal service and would like to take on greater responsibility, with genuine scope to progress into a management position across both practices.

Dispensing Optician – Role

• Dispensing a wide range of frames and lenses to all levels
• Providing specialist advice on complex prescriptions and lens options
• Offering confident frame styling and tailored eyewear recommendations
• Delivering a warm, professional and unhurried service
• Completing collections, adjustments, repairs and aftercare
• Developing strong relationships with a loyal and varied patient base
• Supporting and sharing knowledge with the wider practice team
• Helping with ordering, stock management and general practice administration
• Supporting both the Brigg and nearby practice, with the majority of time initially spent in Brigg
• Taking on additional leadership and operational responsibilities as the role develops

Dispensing Optician – Requirements

• Fully qualified Dispensing Optician registered with the GOC
• Confident dispensing skills and strong optical knowledge
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Friendly, approachable and comfortable building rapport with patients
• Reliable, proactive and able to work independently
• An interest in leadership, practice development and progression
• Must be comfortable working every Saturday

Dispensing Optician – Salary and Benefits

• Salary between £30,000 and £35,000 depending on experience
• Full-time or part-time options considered
• Working hours typically 8:30am to 4:30pm
• No late evenings
• 28 days’ holiday including bank holidays for full-time employees
• Practice closure for approximately two weeks over Christmas, using part of the annual leave allowance
• Support with further training and professional development
• Genuine opportunity to progress into a management position across both practices
