A leading optical lens manufacturer based in Birmingham are looking for a full time Quality Control Technician to join the team.  Reporting to the Quality Manager you will be responsible the final inspection of lenses due to be released to customers.

Quality Control Technician - Role

  • Working with a leading lens manufacturer who supply high quality lenses to Opticians across the UK
  • Inspect finished orders to the higher of company standards
  • Maintain and calibrate focimeters
  • Be able to work to KPI’s to support the service to customers
  • Be proactive in identifying quality concerns
  • Work with the glazing team to ensure repeat issues are identified and communicated
  • Reject and re-order simple jobs to ensure a seamless process for rejected jobs
  • Feedback to glazers on any issues identified
  • Salary up to 25K DOE
  • Bi weekly shift pattern -Week 1 – Monday, Tuesday, Friday & Saturday - Week 2 – Wednesday & Thursday
  • 7.30am to 8pm - 12.5 hours
  • This is initially a 3 month temp contract which a chance to extend or to turn perm afterwards

Quality Control  Technician– Requirements

  • Eye for detail
  • Optical knowledge or previous experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to make strong decisions regarding quality
  • Ability to work effectively with Technicians that have a wide range of skill levels
  • Desire to continually improve processes
