A leading lens manufacturer based in Central London are looking to recruit a full time Optical Glazing Technician. The company has an excellent reputation for supplying high quality lenses into Opticians all across the UK.

Glazing Technician -The Role

  • To produce finished spectacles orders from start to completion, undertaking all or some of the tasks involved in the process, according to your role and skill set
  • Glazing to all levels including rimless
  • Work to the required cell, department and company productivity and quality targets at all times
  • Comply with all standard operating procedures (SOPS), work instructions or procedures applicable to your role, and highlight to your line manager any areas for review
  • To actively participate in department lead improvement projects and communications
  • To receive training as required and be willing to undertake on the job monitoring and consultation
  • Ensuring that all tools, machinery, company property and facilities are used and maintained to the required levels
  • To communicate and interact with your colleagues and those from other departments, and external providers in a courteous and helpful manner

Glazing Technician - Requirements

  • Previous experience working within an optical glazing laboratory environment
  • Excellent knoweldge of glazing and edging equipment
  • Rimless glazing experience
  • Optical knowledge
  • Knowledge of manufacturing process

You will work 37.5 hours a week, mainly Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm, with 1-2 Saturdays a month on a rota basis.

The salary on offer is between £20,000 to £22,000 depending on experience.
