Optical glazing roles and Optical Lab Technician jobs based in Birmingham. Zest Optical are working with a leading lens manufacturer based in Birmingham to hire a full time Optical Lab technician.

A full time Optical Glazing Assistant is required to join a leading ophthalmic lens manufacturer based in Birmingham. You will assist the Glazing team to ensure the highest quality of standards are adhered to.

Optical Glazing Assistant - The Role

  • Enter lenses and frames into the business
  • Correctly pair lenses and frames in job sets
  • Process frames through tracing to create a high-quality job set up
  • Manage the MEI equipment to cut the lenses to the required specification
  • Fit lenses to the specified frames
  • Check the final quality of the spectacles created
  • Dispatch the orders to the purchasing customer

Optical Glazing Assistant - Requirements

  • Experience of working in an Optical environment
  • Glazing experience
  • Proven track record in QC
  • Ability to work 12 hour shifts

Salary and Further Details

  • Salary up to £18,000
  • Working 36 hours, 12-hour rota, working 2 days on and 2 days off across Monday to Saturday) 8am to 8pm
  • Pension – 10% contribution
  • Bonus
  • Free parking or Travel Card (post induction)
  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
