Dispensing Optician vacancies and Optician jobs based in Canterbury, Kent. Zest Optical recruitment are working with an independent Opticians based in Canterbury to hire a full time Dispensing Optician.  

A traditional family run independent Opticians based in Canterbury, Kent are looking for a Dispensing Optician to work 4.5 days a week (32 hours)

The practice has been in the local area for over 30 years, and has an excellent reputation for always putting the patient first. 

Dispensing Optician – Role

  • Dispensing to all levels depending on prescription, lifestyle budget and fashion
  • Working with brands such as BVLGARI, Ray-Ban, Calvin Klein and Hackett
  • Main lens supplier is Essilor but they have accounts with most suppliers
  • Diverse patient base
  • Autonomy on product ordering and stock management
  • Meeting with reps
  • Working alongside 2 experienced Optical Advisors and a Trainee Dispensing Optician
  • Helping to support and assist the Trainee Dispensing Optician
  • Inputting new ideas to drive the business forward
  • Involvement in specialist clinics, colourimetry, low vision etc

Dispensing Optician – Requirements

  • GOC registered
  • Must be calm, comfortable and confident at all times when talking to patients.
  • Maintain the exceptional levels of service this practice is well known for

Dispensing Optician – Salary and benefits

  • Basic salary up to £25,000 (For 32 hours a week)
  • Working 4 days during the week, 9am to 5pm and half a day Saturday morning from 9am to 1pm
  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
  • GOC and ABDO fees paid
