Optometry vacancies and Optical technician role based in Birmingham. Zest Optical recruitment are working with a leading lens manufacturer based in Birmingham to hire a full time Quality Assistant.

A leading Lens Manufacturer based in Birmingham, West Midlands are looking for a full time Quality Assistant.

You will be working in the quality team to ensure the timely processing of both returned and rejected lenses, to ensure a seamless experience for customers.

Quality Assistant Role

  • Assuring timely processing of returned lenses:
    - analysis against warranty T&Cs
    - accurately registering returns
    - accurately registering reasons for return
    - contacting Customers regarding returned orders
    - preparing accurate and professional responses for rejected claims
    • Assuring timely processing of lenses rejected from the lab due to technical reasons:
    - Analysis against Cut Edge and Fit specification
    - Accurately registering reject lenses
    - Accurately registering reasons for rejection
    - Providing accurate and factual feedback to the lab and other departments (as appropriate)
    - Contacting Customers regarding rejected orders
    • Actively participating in any additionally assigned projects
    • Provide support for other departments when requested by line manager
    • Assure accurate and professional communication to customers and within the business to best support Customers
    • Actively working on resolving customer issues and communicating progress to all relevant parties
    • Managing Quality Helpdesk tickets
    • Supporting other departments, when necessary to assure the best Customer Experience

Quality Assistant - Requirements

  • Previous experience of working in optics, Optical Assistant, Glazing Technician etc- Proven ability to analyse and verify information
  • Proficiency in IT areas (e.g. MS Office)
  • Proven excellent communication skills, including handling difficult conversation
  • Experience in communication with customers via phone

    • Salary between £20,000 to £25,000 DOE

    • Mainly Monday to Friday with some Saturdays depending on workload
